Krakenspiel

Krakenspiel is about a month away and its time to finalize our draws. We have 2 teams to fill from Charleston Club members, and a small amount of spots on incomplete teams from outside of Charleston. Summer League

The Summer League is a little bit of friendly competition for our members, mentor league graduates and recent learn to curl participants. Grab a few consistent ice times before hockey season kicks back up this fall. Find out who will stake their claim on the League Champion's Trophy for the next year.  

How is the league going to work?

We are currently envisioning a 5 week, round robin tournament with up to 5 teams. The champion will be determined by the round robin record. In the event of a 2-way tie, the head to head result will break. In the event of a multi-team tie, each teams total points differential (total points scored, minus total points against) will be used. 

Each team will get a bye week, where we would ask (but not require) that team to help out with hosting a Learn To Curl.  

When will the league be? 

We currently have 2 dates in July firmly booked with the Ice Palace

• July 8th, 6-8pm
• July 15th, 6-8pm
  

Our August Dates have not yet been booked, and we would like your input on what dates to book.

• August 5th
• August 12th
• August 19th
• August 26th
  

How are teams being formed? 

The board will help form teams based on player availability, experience, and positional preference. 

How much will the league cost? 

This will depend on how much our August ice costs, and how many learn to curlers we can host during these weeks. Worst case scenario of higher ice costs and no learn to curlers, we are targeting $135 per person to break even. If we can subsidize our ice time with learn to curlers, we expect to be able to lower the league fee.
